Green Bay City Pages Highlights: March 10 - 17, 2022

Plenty of string instruments and ensemble performances in this week's highlights

Winter Jazz Ensemble


Thursday, March 10
Walter Theatre, De Pere


The St. Norbert College Music Department Program’s annual Big Band Snowball Dance is taking a different route this year as a Winter Jazz Ensemble Concert happening at 7:30 p.m. on March 10.


The St. Norbert College Jazz Ensemble will be directed by Assistant Professor of Music and Low Brass, Eric High.


The event will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend.


Masks are optional regardless of vaccination status due to St. Norbert’s second phase of relaxing mask mandates.


Tickets are $6.

Wine & Paint Night


Thursday, March 10
Artless Annex, De Pere


Artless Bastard’s extension, Artless Annex, is hosting a wine and paint night at 6 p.m. March 10.


No experience is needed to enjoy the night of painting.

Anyone ages 21 and up are welcome to attend the event.


Alcohol will be available to purchase during the event. A 16x20 canvas and additional art supplies will be provided.


Limited spots are available.

Natural Satellite


Friday, March 11
Zambaldi Beer, Green Bay


Natural Satellite will perform at Zambaldi Beer 6 p.m. March 11 as part of Zambaldi’s Original Beer + Original Music series.


Natural Satellite is a husband and wife duo from the Fox Valley that perform a blend of genres, from indie, pop, folk and jazz. Karli is a cellist and Jason is a saxophonist, and focuses on themes such as mental health and spirituality. Improvisation is an important part of the duo’s music.


The band released its most recent single, “Best You Can,” in 2021.


There is no admission fee. The event is open to those ages 21 and up.

Comedy taking up the Lyric Room


Friday, March 11
Lyric Room, Green Bay


The Lyric Room is hosting a stand-up comedy night March 11 with comedians Chuck Charles, Jim Berry, Hayden Fredriksen, Nathan Clemons and Logan Dunsmore March 11.
Charles is a comedian and radio personality from the 920.


Berry is an Appleton-based comedian who hosts Comedy Open Mic Night at the Lyric room every Tuesday.


Fredriksen is a Midwest-based comedian, Clemens works at Indoor Kid Comedy Co. and Dunsmore is a comedian and manufacturing engineer at J.W. Speaker Corporation.


The laughs kick off at 8 p.m. This event is for ages 21 and up.

Dallas String Quartet


Monday, March 14
Weidner Center, Green Bay


The Dallas String Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 14 as part of the Brown County Civic Music Spring Series.


The Dallas String Quartet was founded in 2007 and is a fusion of contemporary classical and pop and rock music.

The Quartet is made up of members Ion Zanca as the composer and on violin, Eleanor Dunbar with Melissa Priller on violin, Young Heo on bass, Anthony Plant on guitar and Efren Guzman on drums.


The Quartet plays renditions of popular songs such as “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Sweet Child of Mine.”


Tickets start at $10.

White Rabbit, Red Rabbit


Sunday, March 13
Stage Ten Seventeen, Ashwaubenon


Stage Ten Seventeen is hosting White Rabbit, Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour at 6 p.m. March 13.


Unlike a traditional play, White Rabbit, Red Rabbit has no director or rehearsal, and the actor doesn’t read the script until they take the stage.


The performance is set up as a message and reminder of how powerful and transformative theater can be. The writer, Nassim Soleimanpour was unable to travel when his passport was denied and decided to write a play that would be able to travel instead.


Tickets are $20.
