Green Bay City Hall Academy to start May 1

Posted

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay City Hall Academy will return for its 2025 session.

“This popular program offers residents and business owners a unique opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of Green Bay’s municipal government,” a city release stated.

The City Hall Academy is an eight-week program designed to familiarize participants with city services, functions and activities.

“Participants will have the opportunity to meet city officials, department directors and other city staff for unique and informative sessions. The program provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the city operates, from public safety to parks and recreation, community development to the water utility, public works, and public art,” the release added.

“The City Hall Academy is a vital program that strengthens the bond between our residents and their local government,” said Mayor Eric Genrich. “By providing an inside look at the workings of City Hall, we empower residents to become more informed and engaged citizens, fostering a stronger, more collaborative community. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this incredible opportunity.”

The 2025 City Hall Academy will begin on May 1 and run for eight weeks on Thursdays, 6-8 p.m.

To “graduate” from the academy, participants must attend at least six of the eight sessions and attend one city council or committee meeting.

Registration is required and priority is given to first-time participants.
