Give BIG Green Bay is Back

Posted

GREEN BAY – After a second successful giving day in 2019, Give BIG Green Bay is back,

The Green Bay Packers Foundation and the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation (GGBCF) will host the third annual community-wide giving day from noon, Feb. 18, until noon, Feb. 19.

Give BIG Green Bay will highlight the work of 40 local nonprofit organizations working to change lives in the community.

This year’s event will offer $362,500 in matching funds and incentives.

Last February, the Green Bay Packers Foundation and GGBCF hosted the second online giving day: Give BIG Green Bay.

Through the generosity of 3,446 donors, $1,387,860 was raised in 24 hours to support 40 local nonprofits.

On Feb. 18-19, people everywhere can donate to support the work of any of the 40 local participating nonprofits by visiting giveBIGgreenbay.org.

This online giving platform makes it easy to contribute any amount to make a difference in Brown County.

The GGBCF will underwrite all program expenses allowing the full $250,000 Green Bay Packers Foundation commitment to be allocated as matching funds and encourage the community to give.

Additional matching funds and incentives are available this year.

“Give BIG Green Bay has the ability to create a stronger community by connecting people directly with the impactful nonprofit agencies and leaders who are dedicated to serving the residents of Brown County,” said Mark Murphy, Green Bay Packers president/CEO. “We encourage everyone to learn more about the important work of our local nonprofits and to donate, at any level.”

A diverse cross-section of organizations serving Brown County were selected, and all funds will be distributed directly to the agencies.

This year, 60 percent of the participating nonprofits in Give BIG Green Bay 2020 are first-time participants.

“Last year, 41 percent of Give BIG Green Bay donors self-reported as new to a participating nonprofit,” said Dennis Buehler, GGBCF president and CEO. “That’s a strong indication that Give BIG Green Bay is connecting new resources to these organizations. Please join us on giving day to support local nonprofits that are on the front lines addressing some of our most pressing needs.”
