Name: Garrett Martin

Number: 27

Position: Right-handed pitcher

Hometown: Gypsum, Colorado

High school: Eagle Valley

College: Marian (Fond du Lac)

Martin has thrown in over 32 innings on the season. He has struck out 25 batters and has a current 2.78 earned run average.

Earliest baseball memory: “Throwing bullpens with my dad when I was in elementary school.”

Most memorable baseball moment: “I broke Marian’s school strikeout record this year.”

Most embarrassing baseball moment: “I was in the on-deck circle in high school, and I hit myself in the head with the bat.

Strengths as a player: “I have good composure on the mound and feel like I locate my pitches well.”

Future plans: “I am studying criminal justice, and I’d like to maybe be a police officer one day. I’d like to go as far as baseball can take me.”

What’s it like living in Green Bay and playing in the new stadium: “I have a great host family that I am staying with – they are awesome. I like the humid Midwest weather in summer here. The stadium is a great setup with the board in the back, and the fans are always there after the games, which is cool.”

Best advice someone has given you: “Don’t over think on the mound. At the end of the day, it’s just a game.”

Favorite MLB team: “Colorado Rockies. They’re my hometown team, and I’ve been a fan since I was a kid.”
