Name: Joe Mason

Number: 7

Position: Left field

Hometown: Morehead City, North Carolina

High school: West Carteret High School

College: Mount Olive (North Carolina)

Joe has four home runs on the season, leads the team in at-bats and has a .384 slugging percentage.

Earliest baseball memory: “Playing catch with my dad in the front yard.”

Most memorable baseball moment: “Hitting a walk-off homer in college.”

Most embarrassing baseball moment: “I peed my pants when I was a youngster.”

Strengths as a player: “Speed and power. As an average hitter of the ball, I feel like if I connect on a pitch, I can get to a bag.”

Future plans: “I want to be a real estate agent – remodel houses and then flip them for a profit.”

What’s it like living in Green Bay and playing in the new stadium: “The city is very quiet, which is good. I haven’t been able to do much with our schedule. The stadium is cool being modern, and I feel like it will impact Green Bay really well.”

Best advice someone has given you: “Someone at Mount Olive told me, ‘good is good enough.’ I’m always trying to be perfect with everything I do. I write it on the back of my hat to stay in the moment.”

Favorite MLB team: “The San Diego Padres, because I was actually born in California. My entire family and I cheer for them and watch a number of games.”
