GREEN BAY – More than 400 people showed up for the 18th Annual Veterans Day Commemoration Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Green Bay Yachting Club (GBYC) on Bay Beach Road.

A ceremony kicked off at 11 a.m. featuring a flag ceremony and a 21-gun salute to honor active military, veterans and their families.

The Coast Guard laid a wreath in the water near the club to honor their fallen, and every veteran who came in on Saturday received a drink on the house.

“It’s just something we all feel like we have to do to honor those who served,” GBYC Vice Commodore Gary Kuschel said. “We’re going to do what we can. I’d say that with about 400 people here today, we’re one of the biggest Veterans Day celebrations in Green Bay.”
