Future 15: Dareios Moore

Posted

GREEN BAY – Dareios Moore was born and raised in Green Bay but said he moved around a lot, attending many different elementary schools – King, Rock Ledge and Sullivan.

“As a teen, I attended Parkview Middle School, Ashwaubenon High School and Chicago Institute of Technology,” Moore recalled.

He later graduated from St. Norbert College with a bachelors degree in business administration.

“My early educational career taught me resilience, adaptability and the impermanence that life brings. I struggled in school due to being neurodivergent with learning disabilities and getting frequently bullied by students and even a staff member but I never let that get in the way of trying.

I found peace in creation. I loved taking things apart and trying to figure out how they work. I played nearly every sport and participated in many extracurricular activities such as eco club, Skills USA, and chess club,” he said.

“My most notable accomplishments in athletics were an undefeated football season and breaking my high school pole vault record.

“I made a small fortune investing but it was taken from me as I was ready to leave college and move out of state by a company called Celsius. This taught me the valuable lesson of platform risk. I received an extremely small portion back after the company went through Chapter 11. Those resources would have funded my startups and allowed me to buy a home.

“The silver lining is this event kept me in Green Bay which allowed me to make a positive difference in my community and become a Future 15 recipient. “

Today, Dareios focuses on food system strategy and community engagement in his role with Wello, where he has made significant contributions to local food access and sustainability through initiatives like farm-to-school and farm-to-institution programs.

Using resources from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Michigan, Dareios organized Apple Crunch initiatives with Provident Health Foundation to promote local food awareness.

“My passion for serving others and my ability to persist through all that life brings has steered my career to its current state,” Moore added.

“The next steps in my career would be shipping various software products to improve civic engagement and financial literacy. Through my employer, I will grow their reach, connections, and impact through healthy local food access, sustainability and community fortification.

“My highest aim is to positively impact the world and expand consciousness.”

Leading up to the 2025 Future 15 & Young Professionals Awards banquet on Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Oneida Casino Hotel, we will be highlighting the finalists in each edition of the Press Times.
