Future 15: Christopher Ledvina

Posted

GREEN BAY – Christopher Ledvina has spent most of his life in Northeast Wisconsin.

After graduating from UW-Green Bay, he went right into teaching at the secondary level.

“Eventually, I decided that I needed a change and found myself living in Prague, where I was first introduced to the learning and development field. Since returning to the United States, I have focused my career on developing learning opportunities and bridging the gap between education and industry,” Ledvina said.

“I completed my masters in leadership and organizational development at Lakeland University in Sheboygan while working in their career services and cooperative education department to promote internship development with local organizations.

“More recently, I completed my Ph.D. in global leadership and change at Tiffin University and have been working at the UW-Green Bay, where I create training programs for local organizations and support our non-credit professional certificate programs.

“Outside of work, I volunteer for the Greater Green Bay Chamber’s Current Young Professionals program, where I am the chair of the Develops Committee focused on bringing professional and personal development opportunities to young professionals in the area.”

Ledvina said that his sense of curiosity and adaptability have been the driving forces in his career development.

“In today’s world, being willing to continue to learn new things and adapt with the situation can be just as important as having strong resolve and confidence in yourself. The world we live in is constantly changing and being willing to accept that as the world shifts, we need to do the same, has been invigorating for me. This mindset has allowed me to continue to evolve as a person and professional. I’m always looking for ways to better myself, my team, and my community. As long as I can keep moving forward and keep learning new things, then I believe that I can help others do the same,” he said.

“My goal is to continue to find new and innovative ways to support the community in developing learning opportunities for all. I’m happy to be here at UW-Green Bay and part of a team that allows me to utilize my skills and get creative in improving access to professional development programs. I’ve also been given the chance to teach coursework in organizational development and career planning, and I would like to continue on that path.

“In addition, I foresee being even more engaged in the community through volunteering, collaboration, and advocating for community-based professional development opportunities.”

Ledvina said that he is fascinated by the story of Walt Disney and a driver in how he views opportunity.

“His drive for success is well known, but I am most inspired by his spirit of curiosity, creativity and vision. Walt had an extraordinary ability to imagine what could be and inspire others to bring those possibilities to life. He could see what people could accomplish by giving them the opportunity to learn, experiment and create together. His belief fueled innovation, and his story reminds me of the power of dreaming big,” he added.

Leading up to the 2025 Future 15 & Young Professionals Awards banquet on Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Oneida Casino Hotel, we will be highlighting the finalists in each edition of the Press Times.
