On Packers Family Night, thousands of fans will pour into the Lambeau Field area. One 70-foot fence across the street will hand them a paintbrush.
The Gruber Community Fence returns Friday, Aug. 7, for its fourth year.
From 12- 6 p.m., fans of all ages can pick up a brush and help paint a 70-foot paint-by-numbers mural on Lombardi Avenue, directly across from Lambeau Field.
Participation is free with no signup or supplies needed.
This year’s design, The Grid of Game Day, breaks the fence into three-foot squares — each one a snapshot of Packers fan culture. The cold, the rituals, the gear, the energy before kickoff. Painted together by hundreds of hands, they become a time capsule of opening weekend in Green Bay.
Over the past three years, more than 1,000 fans have left their mark — young kids, lifelong season ticket holders, even former Packers players.
“I’ve been painting Packers fences outside Lambeau since 2014, and this event turns that tradition into something every fan can be part of,” said Zane Statz, the artist behind the fence.
The event is made possible by core sponsor and namesake Gruber Law Offices, with Kwik Trip returning as supporting sponsor — keeping it free and open to every fan. Wisconsin-made Hallman Lindsay Paints joins as the official paint of the Packers Fence.
