DE PERE – De Pere District 3 residents will soon decide whether to keep their current alderperson or elect someone new to the job.
Devin Perock will challenge incumbent Mike Eserkaln April 5 for the District 3 seat on the De Pere Council.
The Press Times asked each candidate the same question: What do you see as the most important issue facing the City of De Pere and District 3, and if elected, how will you address it?
Each candidate was given 200 words to respond.
Devin Perock
A: The city does a good job keeping up with the roads, parks and services.
One of the issues that will need to be addressed is parking and some of the back-ups that occur around the area.
If elected, I look forward to offering my fresh ideas to help try and find a way to make the parking easier and not so confusing for the residents and business owners.
Mike Eserkaln
A: I think our current most important issue is helping area businesses recover from the past two years of pandemic related issues.
In the next year or so, we’ll have the new Mulva Cultural Center and the Cornerstone Hotel added to our downtown map, so we are primed to be a destination.
We have various funds set aside for business facade improvements.
I will continue to support these and get word out to businesses about their availability, so our city can compliment our new developments.
