Eleven contested races, one primary for Brown County board

BROWN COUNTY – Though nine of the current 26 Brown County board supervisors aren’t seeking re-election this spring, only 11 districts will have more than one candidate on the ballot.

The incumbents not running for new two-year terms include: Erik Hoyer, District 4; Staush Gruszynski, District 5; Bernie Erickson, District 7; Paul Ballard, District 15; Aaron Linssen, District 18; Jim Kneiszel, District 19; Steven Deslauriers, District 20; Alex Tran, District 21; and Patrick Moynihan Jr., District 22.

Three of those districts without the incumbent in the race will have a single candidate on the ballot with Lindsay Dorff (District 4), Emily Jacobson (District 5) and James Murphy (District 15) seeking a seat.

The 12 incumbents facing no opposition include: Tom Sieber, District 1, Thomas De Wane, District 2; Patrick Evans, District 9; John Vander Leest, District 10; Patrick Buckley, District 11; Dave Landwehr, District 12; Joan Brusky, District 14; David Kaster, District 16; John Van Dyck, District 17; Ray Suennen, District 23; Tom Lund, District 25; and Keith Deneys; District 26.

One of the 11 contested races will have a primary Feb. 18.

In District 6 in Green Bay, Kathy Lefebvre is being challenged Paul Boucher and Ken Corry.

The top two vote-getters advance to the April 7 general election.

The other 10 contested races with two candidates each will only appear on the ballot in April.

The candidates in those races, with (i) designating the incumbents, include:

• District 3, Andy Nicholson (i) and Amanda Chu.

• District 7, Tom Friberg and Roger Moore.

• District 8, Megan Borchardt (i) and Guy Zima.

• District 13, Norbert Dantinne (i) and Matthew Jacobs.

• District 18, Patrick Hopkins and Ted Keneklis.

• District 19, Cassandra Erickson and George Lucia.

• District 20, Mark Berndt and Devon Coenen.

• District 21, Sue Loberger and Randy Schultz.

• District 22, Corrie Campbell and Tom Peters.

• District 24, Richard Schadewald (i) and AJ Walker.

The 26 Brown County board seats are up for election in the spring on even-numbered years.
