Williams wins two-year term on village board
ASHWAUBENON – Allison Williams has won a two-year term to continue representing Wards 1-2 as an Ashwaubenon village board trustee.
Williams, a human resources generalist for Expera Specialty Solutions, outpolled challenger S.F. Zeke Przybelski, a former business owner and current warehouse supervisor, 187 (61.92 percent) to 114 (37.75 percent).
“It’s very nice to be elected for another two years,” Williams said.
She said she is looking forward to seeing through projects to their completion, such as the construction of a new stadium for the Green Bay Bullfrogs and other new developments in the village.
Williams said she wants to continue being “the voice for the new generation for Ashwaubenon.”
Though Przybelski noted voters didn’t accept his message as much as the one from Williams, he said he accepts the election results.
“The voters have spoken and I’m good with that,” he said.
Tran ousts Campbell as District 21 Brown County supervisor
ASHWAUBENON – The Brown County Board seats where challengers defeated incumbents Tuesday, April 3, include District 21 in the village of Ashwaubenon.
Challenger Alex Tran, a manager for Duke Marine Engineering Consultants, outpolled incumbent Corrie Campbell, a communications and events coordinator for the National Shire of Our Lady of Good Help, 639 (52.04 percent) to 586 (47.72 percent).
“I want to thank my neighbors in Ashwaubenon for believing in me,” Tran said. “My intent for running was to give back (to) this wonderful community for giving my family and me hope, and a place to call home. I hope to make Ashwaubenon proud.”
Tran said she is “looking forward to working with the other supervisors, in a civilized manner, to accomplish what is best for Brown County.”
“I hope to cut waste from the government, ensure more resources are available to help our Veterans (especially for mental health and housing), recruit more companies with good paying wages to come to Brown County and find ways to alleviate the overcrowding of our jails,” she said.
Campbell, whose current term is coming to an end this month after not winning re-election, said she is proud of her record of having served five years on the county board.
Lemorande, Suennen hold onto seats
HOWARD – The two incumbents on the Board of Trustees for the village of Howard retained their seats after the Tuesday, April 3 election.
In Wards 9 and 10, Jim Lemorande received 344 votes (61.87 percent) and challenger Tim Meves received 206 votes (37.05 percent).
In Wards 11 and 12, Ray Suennen received 318 votes (53.81 percent) and challenger John Hemmen received 273 votes (46.19 percent).
Neither Lemorande or Suennen were available for quotes at deadline.
Becker retains seat in District 26
SUAMICO – Incumbent Mark Becker hung on to keep his seat on the Brown County Board of Supervisors in the April 3 election.
Becker will again represent District 26, which includes parts of Suamico, Howard, Pittsfield and Pulaski.
Becker received 987 votes (60.11 percent), compared to challenger Jim Pyle, who received 652 votes (39.71 percent).
“It’s a totally different feeling from going from the aggressor, as I was last time, to the defender, as I was this time,” Becker said. “As an elected person you fight so hard for what you think is right and when that report card comes down it really is a type of stress and anxiety I never have experienced before. But I was really, really honored to see the work we were able to do upheld in District 26 and I’m very, very grateful for everyone’s support.”
