DE PERE – The De Pere Area Service Clubs recently announced Patrick T. Byrne as the 2024 recipient of the De Pere Community Silver Knight Award.

“Pat has been serving the community of De Pere, charitable organizations and individuals in a variety of capacities for many years,” a release from the De Pere Area Service Clubs stated.

“Pat, and his wife Pam, played a key role in the success of Celebrate De Pere for a number of years, and he participates in many fundraising events for the Knights of Columbus.

“Pat was also a member of charity events such as The Bugsy Charity Softball Tournament, Wings Over Wisconsin, Notre Dame Key Club and most recently Hands Across De Pere/Hope Squad.

“It is an endless list including, local 3 on 3 Charity Basketball Tournaments, spearheading holiday parties for the elderly at the McCormick Home, National Alliance on Mental Illness and serving in lead roles for St Francis Xavier Catholic Church events and fundraisers.

“Equally as important is how Pat serves his family, friends and neighbors by providing lawncare, snow blowing, leaf and brush clean up, painting and assisting with any project needing another hand.”

Byrne will be honored at the Silver Knight Awards Banquet on Monday, Oct. 21, at the Swan Club in De Pere.

Since 1968, the Silver Knight Award has been honoring individuals nominated by De Pere service clubs and civic organizations, or community members.
Yearly winners are selected by a vote of past recipients.
