Boys’ swimming and diving state results

WAUKESHA – The boys’ swimming and diving season is complete.

Several local athletes from Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, Green Bay United and Pulaski traveled to Waukesha South High School Feb. 5-6 for the state competition.

Bay Port, Green Bay United and Pulaski competed in Division 1, while Ashwaubenon competed in Division 2.

Division 1 results

Individually for Pulaski, diver Spencer Van Donsel placed 23rd in the 1-meter competition with 140.8 points, while TJ Shaw finished 21st in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.41) and 20th in the 500 freestyle (4:56.22).

Individually for Bay Port, Victor Kostov placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (50.47) and sixth in the 100 backstroke (51.15), while Payton Schilz (16th, 100 freestyle – 48.46) and William Nicol (23rd, 200 individual medley – 2:05.53) also competed.

Bay Port’s 200 medley relay team (Kostov, Nicol, Asa Sadowsky, Schilz) finished 15th (1:40.04), while the 400 freestyle relay team (Schilz, Sadowsky, Turner Long, Kostov) placed 18th (3:19.63).

GBU’s Mikhail Neverman (17th, 100 backstroke – 54.39) and Kyler Simonet (22nd, 100 butterfly – 53.32) also competed.

Bay Port finished 23rd among 34 teams with 33 points.

Sun Prairie won overall with 232.5 points.

Division 2 results

Individually for Ashwaubenon, Jackson Hodek placed second in both the 200 freestyle (1:43.94) and 500 freestyle (4:46.01).

Cooper Herr (fifth, 100 freestyle – 48.21; eighth, 50 freestyle – 22:31), Andrew Hodek (12th, 500 freestyle – 5:08.54) and Alexander Smits (13th, 500 freestyle – 5:09.46) also competed.

The 200 freestyle relay team (Herr, Peter Steinhoff, Anthony Fairman, J. Hodek) finished 12th (1:32.56), while the 400 freestyle relay team (Herr, Steinhoff, Fairman, J. Hodek) placed 11th (3:23.55).

The Jaguars finished 12th among 28 teams with 90 points.

Cedarburg won overall with 309 points.
