Bay Port track & field teams finally get outside

SUAMICO – It may have taken a month, but the Bay Port girls’ and boys’ track and field teams finally got outside for a meet April 23 at the high school.

Cooped up inside since spring practice started, the Pirates easily won the four-team meet in sunny and warm conditions.

The boys’ total of 157.5 outdistanced Green Bay Notre Dame’s 54.5, while the girls were 81 points better than the Tritons (150 to 69).

Overall event winners for the boys were: Owen Miller (200 – 23:78; long jump – 19-05-50), Garrett Mooren (400 – 53:25), Kyle Thieme (800 – 2:02:97), Cordell Tinch (300 hurdles – 41:51), the 4x100 meter relay team (46:53), the 4x200 meter relay team (1:36:28), Isaiah Gash (triple jump – 39-07.75), Jack Plumb (shot put – 51-00.50) and Braden Doyle (discus – 134-10).

The boys finished in the top five spots in the 800, long jump and shot put.

Overall event winners for the girls were: Bailey Cisar (100 – 13.33), Tessa Gosz (200 – 27.64), Savannah Huben (400 – 1:02:86), Adeniji Eniola (100 Hurdles – 17:11), the 4x100 meter relay team (51:49), the 4x200 meter relay team (1:50:39), Ella Meeuwsen (high jump – 5-04.00), Olivia Mabry (pole vault – 11-00.00), Ava Murphy (long jump – 15-04.00), Caitlyn DeValk (shot put – 32-05.75) and Elizabeth Blindauer (discus – 98-09).

The Bay Port girls swept the top three spots in the high jump and discus.
