“We’re thrilled to be back in Titletown this fall for what’s shaping up to be a truly historic weekend,” said Mitchell Pinta, Wisconsin Athletics Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Revenue Officer. “Badger fans from across the state and country are in for an experience unlike anything else, a full weekend in downtown Green Bay capped off by cheering on Wisconsin at Lambeau Field.”
“This community demonstrated during last year’s NFL Draft that incredible things can happen when local organizations come together,” said Mary Rhode, vice president of marketing & communications for On Broadway, Inc. “It’s a thrill to bring together once again, many of those same organizations and partner with Wisconsin Athletics to once again create an unforgettable experience that highlights the energy, hospitality and spirit of the Broadway District and downtown Green Bay.”
Former Packers and Badgers stand-out and Wisconsin native, Mark Tauscher will serve as the event parade’s grand marshal. Tauscher, born in Marshfield, was a walk-on to the Badgers in 1995 and was then drafted in the 7th round of the 2000 NFL Draft to the Green Bay Packers, where he was a member of the Super Bowl XLV winning team.
“I’m fired up for what is going to be a great weekend uniting some of my favorite things in the world, the Badgers, the Packers and the Green Bay community.” said Mark Tauscher “I’m honored and proud to be the Grand Marshal for Saturday’s parade and I can’t wait to see our city decked out in Badger Red.”
The parade will start from Mather St. at 3:30 p.m., heading south on N Broadway to Dousman St., turning left and heading east to end at Donald Driver Way.
Featured in the parade will be the Green Bay Fire Department, Green Bay Preble High School Drumline, UW Spirit Squad, Bucky and the UW Marching Band.
Beginning at 4:30 p.m. on event day, fans can turn their attention to the stage, where the voice of the Badgers, Matt Lepay, will host a special pep rally with Badger football alums looking at the upcoming football season and on Sunday’s game against Notre Dame.
