ASHWAUBENON – Ashwaubenon High School has hired Kari Kleczka as the new girls’ swimming coach.
Kleczka has been involved as one of the lead coaches with the Green Bay YMCA swim club since 2010.
She swam at Pulaski High School and has since worked under Dave Korst during her time at the Green Bay YMCA.
“I first want to thank [former head coach} Jen Steffel, who did an outstanding job leading the girls’ program for the past 12 seasons,” said Ashwaubenon Activities Director/Associate Principal Nick Senger. “Our swimmers were lucky to have her over that time, and she will always be a role model for them. I’m excited for Kari Kleczka to take over the program. She brings a wealth of club experience and is ready to take and lead a high school program. She has demonstrated a high understanding of the sport – and more importantly, the role that interscholastic athletics can play in a young student-athlete’s life. She’s ready, and she will do a terrific job leading our swimming team.”
Kleczka said about being named coach, “I am extremely excited to be starting this new adventure as the Ashwaubenon girls’ swimming coach, and I can’t wait to get started. I look forward to being a part of the students’ success and helping them achieve their goals.”
