PLYMOUTH – The Ashwaubenon girls’ swimming and diving team won the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Division 2 Plymouth Sectional Nov. 6.
The Jaguars (386 points) beat Kohler Co-op (378) by eight points to finish first among 14 teams.
Seymour (186) finished fourth.
The WIAA Swimming and Diving Championships are Friday-Saturday, Nov. 12-13, at the Waukesha South Natatorium.
Ashwaubenon state qualifiers
The Jaguars swept the three relay events.
The 200-yard medley relay team (1:53.29) of Bry Bellile, Jocelyn McNicoll, Erin Schuch and Emily Selissen won by almost a second over Kohler.
The 200 freestyle relay team (1:39.59) of Bellile, Liz Witt, Schuch and Sienna Nitke beat Kohler by almost 2 seconds.
The 400 freestyle relay team (3:41.45) of Schuch, Selissen, Witt and Nitke beat Kohler by almost 4 seconds.
Individually, Bellile won the 200 freestyle (1:53.11) and 100 freestyle (51.79) and Nitke won the 50 freestyle (24.31).
Nitke also advanced in the 100 freestyle (51.94) with a second-place finish.
Schuch also advanced in the 100 butterfly (1:01.47) with a second-place finish.
Seymour state qualifier
Julia Gawryleski won the 100 backstroke (1:03.64) to advance.
