‘Anchorman: Hello Green Bay’ opens Feb.6 for a night of laughter

Posted

Let Me Be Frank Productions opened the curtain for the first performance of Anchorman: Hello Green Bay, on Feb. 6 at the Meyer Theatre.

Audiences are invited to enjoy more than just a performance — for each ticket sold for opening night $10 was donated to the Greater Green Bay YMCA.

The show is also the first in Let Me Be Frank Productions’ 26th season of entertainment.

Audience members can look forward to humorous dialogue, plot themes around women’s rights and music from the 1970s with songs from artists like the Bee Gees and Electric Light Orchestra.

“We want to take two hours out of your life and make you laugh”, said Frank Hermans, owner of Let Me Be Frank Productions and producer of Anchorman.

Under the spotlight will be characters including Frank Hermans as Frank Burgundy, Amy Riemer as Amy Corningstone, Lisa Borley as Lisa Loo Loo and more.

“I’ve been very blessed to have the talent I have on stage,” Hermans remarked.
Behind the scenes, Hermans attributes much of his success in theater to the people in his life and the community.

“I have a wonderful life, I have eight kids, a beautiful wife, and a wonderful community. It’s not the money you make, it’s the friends,” he said.
In addition, his love for comedy and history fuels his performance writing spark.

“What inspires me is comedy. I love history and comedy. I wrote a story (once) about Hamilton (the musical) based on Hamilton Industries,” said Hermans.
Inspired by his additional role as a regular co-host on “Local 5 Live,” Hermans decided to create a parody of the film Anchorman.

“I like to do things that are top of mind, I was talking to Lisa from Local 5 and I thought I had to do a show about news. (Anchorman) is one of my favorite movies.”

Thus, Anchorman: Hello Green Bay was born.
