Green Bay Pet Expo returns to Resch Center

Posted

The 18th Annual Green Bay Pet Expo event will be held at the Resch Center starting March 14.

The family-friendly event promises to have loads of entertainment featuring all things pets, from pet fashion shows to Brown County Sheriff K-9 Unit demonstrations.

Other offerings at the pet expo will include a petting zoo, craft stations, a pet racetrack, a pet agility course, shopping and entertainment including Mischief and Magic and the Pet Patio.

“This is just a celebration of all things pets”, Said Dakota Hicks, event producer for The Pet Expo.

Alongside the lovable and classic dogs and cats, there’s a chance attendees will see something more on the exotic side of pets.

Hicks mentioned, “I’ve seen anything from cats in backpacks, to when we had an alligator in the fashion show last year. He was dressed up as a bumblebee. (The term) pets is so wide, in terms of what can be a pet, so it’s cool to see everyone come together and celebrate what a pet means to them.”

For those looking for more than a temporary pet snuggle, there will also be pets up for adoption at the expo.

“At the event this year, we will have the Mad City Windows and Doors adoption wall that I’m so excited for. You can kind of see all the adoptable pets on that wall. We are hoping to play off a sort of ‘how much is that doggy in the window,’” said Hicks.

“I think (the expo) is just a really great community event to really celebrate the pets in our lives, grab them a treat, maybe a new toy, hang out and watch the demonstrations and just enjoy meeting new people that love their pets as much as you do. And maybe bring home a new pet if you’re looking for an addition to your family,” said Hicks.

The Expo will be open March 14 from 3-8 p.m., and March 15 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
