Newton notches game-winner for Voyageurs
ASHWAUBENON—Four days after winning in the final period versus Bay Port, the De Pere Voyageurs’ boys hockey team was at it again tallying a third period goal with 6:40 left in the game to defeat the Ashwaubenon Jaguars by a final of 1-0 in a contest played Jan. 14 at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center.
WIAA seeking stiffer penalties for harassment against officials
Calling the shortage of youth sports officials a “national crisis,” the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) has joined other sports organizations in seeking legislation that would make harassing behavior toward a sports official a Class A misdemeanor.
