GREEN BAY—The Green Bay women’s basketball team went ice-cold in the second quarter and dropped a Horizon League contest to IUPUI 54-42 in a game held Jan. 17 at the Kress Events Center.

The De Pere wrestling team’s depth from top to bottom was the key in turning back Bay Port in a Fox River Classic Conference dual at De Pere High School Jan. 16.

The 2019 Fox River Classic Conference girls’ swimming and diving honors were recently announced.

The Green Bay Optimist Club recently announced registration for the girls’ summer softball league opened Jan. 15 and will continue through April 15.

The Bay Port girls’ basketball team won the 2019 WIAA Division 1 state championship, but there’s a good chance the Pirates wouldn’t have made it to the Resch Center in Green Bay without the help of then-junior Raegan McIntyre.

ASHWAUBENON—Four days after winning in the final period versus Bay Port, the De Pere Voyageurs’ boys hockey team was at it again tallying a third period goal with 6:40 left in the game to defeat the Ashwaubenon Jaguars by a final of 1-0 in a contest played Jan. 14 at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center.

Calling the shortage of youth sports officials a “national crisis,” the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) has joined other sports organizations in seeking legislation that would make harassing behavior toward a sports official a Class A misdemeanor.

The Bay Port boys’ swimming team capped off its impressive start to the season with a victory at the 39th Annual Jaguar Swimming Invitational at the Ashwaubenon Community Pool Jan. 11.
