Redbirds late game heroics lift them over Hornets
DE PERE—Megan Behnke knew she had one chance to make it count. With the bases loaded and the score tied at five apiece, Behnke connected on the game-winning single that lifted the De Pere Redbirds to a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Green Bay Preble Hornets, in a girls’ softball game played April 9 at De Pere High School.

Hornets quick start lifts them over Pirates
GREEN BAY—The Green Bay Preble Hornets scored four runs in the opening inning and held on to defeat a pesky Bay Port Pirates team by a final of 5-3 in a game played April 4 at frigid Finger Road Softball Complex.“That’s (Eden) a player that has come up through the ranks and paid her dues,” said Hornets head coach Ron Metzler. “She pitched really well tonight having a number of strike outs.”
