We are all transients of life’s phases and circumstance.

We have a very direct request of you today, as part of the follow-up to our recent statewide reporting and editorial project on homelessness in Wisconsin: Please call today and urge your state senator to support Senate approval of eight nonpartisan bills that would launch $7.5 million in new funds to combat homelessness in our state.

For the past month, we have been participating in a statewide editorial campaign on the topic of homelessness, an outcome of a symposium we initiated involving legislators, the business community, service providers and members of the media.

There’s no cut-and-dry solution to solving homelessness, but a good place to start is to address the most expensive cost related to living – housing.

This week, all Multi Media Channel publications and websites are collaborating with other newspapers across Wisconsin to bring new attention and, ideally, new action to a challenge that has plagued our state for decades – homelessness.
