When and how did you start making art?

Started painting in late 1990’s after a long physical recovery and still working with PTSD from an airplane crash. I am a Self Taught artist. After meeting other artists, I was encouraged to enter juried exhibits. I started out doing glazed acrylics and am now working with textured acrylics which is shown in photo of painting.

What inspires your work?

I am now inspired by the beauty of my surroundings. My themes are much lighter than when first painting. My early paintings were inspired by social ills and are unfortunately still relevant today.

How would you describe Green Bay/NE Wisconsin’s arts community?

The Green Bay community of arts is extremely talented and passionate about creating and supporting all kinds of artistic endeavors. It has grown in artists and places like the Art Garage who foster art and artistic events.

What is the best advice you have for other artists?

Be open to change and all types of art. When you find how you want to express yourself, stay motivated. Look to experiment with different techniques and methods. Keep an open positive mind and a heart full of Love.

Where can people find your work?

I have paintings that can be seen at UWGB-Lawton Gallery Private Collection and at Neville Museum Private Collection. I am currently showing at The Art Garage in their Gift Shop and I can be contacted privately for showing in my home gallery.
