Medium/Art form: Visual

When and how did you start making art?

I’ve been making art all my life. I was really inspired in college and have always found a way to express my creativity, whether through theatre arts (costuming, set design, advertising) or teaching at my Sip and Paint studio. Now that I’m retired, I devote all my free time to creating. Otherwise you’ll find me entertaining my five grandsons (all under age five). Retiring to my hometown of Green Bay three years ago after 35 years living up north, I’m thrilled to be here in a much large more vibrant arts community!

What inspires your work?

Color, new ideas, new tools and mediums.

How would you describe Green Bay/NE Wisconsin’s arts community?

Many more options than in my previous community.

What is the best advice you have for other artists?

Don’t get discouraged. Keep at it as much a you can. Create for yourself and others will be inspired by your creations!

Where can people find your work?

I’m on social media — both FB and Instagram — under BrownEyedAmusings and also at my website, www.browneyedamusings.com.
