The Redbirds will travel to Wisconsin Lutheran, which is ranked No. 2 in Division 2.

The Vikings are 9-2 and led by one of the state’s most sought-after recruits, Kon Knueppel.

The 6-foot-6 junior guard has offers from a number of power-5 conference schools, including Wisconsin and Marquette.

Kueppel, whose mom is UW-Green Bay all-time leading scorer Chari Nordgaard and his uncle is UW-Green Bay standout and former pro player Jeff Nordgaard, is averaging 18.8 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

De Pere will have to slow down Wisconsin Lutheran’s high-powered offense, which is averaging 79.3 points per game.

De Pere (11-0) is putting up 68.9 points per game, but is only allowing 45.4 to its opponents.

Brothers John and Zach Kinziger have been lighting it up for the Redbirds. The senior John is leading the team with 19.9 points per game, while Zach, just a sophomore, is at 16 points.

Junior Will Hornseth is averaging 15.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Nearly halfway through its Fox River Classic Conference schedule, De Pere is a perfect 8-0. Its closest conference game thus far is a 23-point win vs. Sheboygan South,

Following the Wisconsin Lutheran game, De Pere will have one more big nonconference matchup left this season. Pewaukee, ranked No. 1 in Division 2, will travel to De Pere on Feb. 11 for a 7 p.m. game. Get your popcorn ready for that high-scoring affair.
