Business reopens in time for Wisconsin winter

Tails are wagging in excitement as the beloved business, Bark and Brew, announces its return for the winter season of 2023.

Bark and Brew opened its doors in 2018 at 2310 Lineville Road, Suite 100, in Suamico.

Their mission was to make a groundbreaking arrival to the Green Bay area with the first off-leash, dog-friendly, in- and outdoors establishment — and they did just that.

Tara Brunette, owner and founder of Bark and Brew, said “It was a cultivation of wanting to be able to bring your pet, but also be with your friends and go out and have a drink.”

Bark and Brew was forced to close its doors on November 7, 2021, due to a building buyout, but Brunette knew it wasn’t the end of the business.

A collection of broken hearts was left behind by both dogs and their owners after doors closed, and a wave of support and donations for a new location for the business quickly took off.

Staff and crew of Bark and Brew were swept away by the support and knew they couldn’t stay closed for long.

The business is projected to open once again in January, now residing at 2514 Glendale Ave in Howard.
Brunette said Bark and Brew has a much more permanent set-up now, fortified by a strong relationship with the building owner.

“We share a vision with this business, our goals and aspirations lined up perfectly,” Brunette said. “We’re very excited for the opportunity to expand and grow, and make this our permanent home.”

Beverages ranging from both bottle and tap beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and 12 rotating craft cocktails are offered to the human patrons, and a “bone bar” filled with an array of puppy treats are available to the furry friends.

The new location will also feature a much larger enclosure for the dogs to run around in, with the shade of a forest to provide relief from the sun in the hot summer, and an indoor, climate-controlled area for when it is too cold outside.

Board games and card games as well as a collection of televisions will be available for patrons while their pups play.

Brunette has big plans for the business going forward, such as bringing back collaborative events like 5ks, photo opportunities with non-profit pet rescues, and even grooming and puppy daycare.
