Zane Giron was in the US Army for 24 years before he retired in November of 2011.
Having a sister who lived in the Green Bay area, Giron visited a couple of times while on R&R, and that was all it took for him to decide to move here from Hawaii once his time in the Army was done.
When asked to name a couple of things that make Brown County an attractive place to live, Giron, now in his 10th year as a resident, brought up the cost of living and how friendly his new neighbors are.
He said he’s also appreciative of how respectful people in the area are of veterans. It did, however, take him half a decade to get used to Wisconsin winters.
