Riley Guyette
Notre Dame Academy

Name: Riley Guyette

School: Notre Dame Academy

Area of Interest: Tech crew for school productions

Parents: Jackie and Douglas Guyette

Riley Guyette got started doing audio and visual tech for Notre Dame Academy in his freshman year.
Now entering his senior year, he’s been doing it ever since.

Guyette said he got started because his dad, a teacher at the school, wanted to make sure he got involved in extracurricular activities, so he connected Riley to a student on the technician team.

Guyette said audio and visual technicians set up and manage all of the lights and microphones you see during a show, and he’s been involved with every major event at his school.

Duties include everything from running a spotlight in musicals like Footloose and Matilda to managing all of the microphones at a choir concert.

“My favorite thing about being on the school’s tech team is that I am able to grow close with our tight-knit community of student technicians,” Guyette said. “Over time we have developed great friendships and we are all very close to each other.”

Guyette said he also likes being able to say that he was involved with so many exciting events.

“I love being able to see actors rehearse their musicals over and over until they are perfect. I am still questioning whether or not I would like to do stuff like this in the future because a career path like this seems to be quite the commitment,” he said.
