Anna Therese George, Green Bay Southwest High School (SWHS) graduating senior, said she has been singing pretty much her entire life, but only began participating in music and theater through school when she was in fifth grade.

“The one thing I like the most about choral music is the ability to tell stories; to showcase feelings, emotion, activism, morals and so much more,” she said. “In solo performances, I have performed in Solo & Ensemble music festivals and smaller gigs, but choir is my main deal.”

George said she has attended two state conventions in choir, performed several solos for choral pieces – including the soprano solo in Mozart’s Alleluia at the Southwest – hosted choir festival and even conducted two pieces for the Chamber Choir at Southwest.

“Following SWHS, I am headed to the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University for classical vocal performance,” she said.

George said for her, singing means everything.

“Every day, I’m happy when I go to choir, and I’m happy because I sing,” she said.

Anna Therese George plans to attend the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University for classical vocal performance.
