GREEN BAY – University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s basketball Head Coach Will Ryan recently announced the addition of Jack Rose to the 2022-23 roster.

The Bristol native comes to Green Bay after a successful career at Westosha Central High School.

Rose joins seven other additions to the 2022-23 roster and is the third true freshman in the class along with Donavan Short and Amari Jedkins.

“We’re thrilled to add another Wisconsinite to our already strong incoming freshman class,” Ryan said. “Jack is a multi-faceted and skilled guard who knows how to play with and without the ball. As Westosha Central’s all-time leading scorer, he’s shown he can score at all three levels.”

Ryan said Rose does a good job using his high basketball IQ to move well without the ball.

“Jack is a quality on and off-ball defender who moves his feet well, understands angles and where to be in help side,” he said. “Having played three sports (basketball, baseball, volleyball), we know he’s a versatile athlete who loves to compete. Phoenix fans will love his tough-nosed, competitive fire and winning pedigree.”

Rose, a 2022 graduate of Westosha Central, averaged 20.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest during his senior season.

He shot 45.5% from the field, 80% from the free-throw line and 37.5% from beyond the 3-point arc.

Rose totaled 1,636 career points at Westosha Central.

“I chose Green Bay because the coaches valued me, and it was the best fit for me,” Rose said. “I’m excited to get stronger and battle hard every day with a new team.”
