WIAA releases postseason softball brackets

BROWN COUNTY – The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) recently released the postseason softball brackets.

Locally, in Division 1, Green Bay Preble earned a No. 3 seed, while Bay Port (4), Ashwaubenon (5), Pulaski (6), De Pere (7), West De Pere (10), Green Bay Southwest (11) and Green Bay West/East (14) are also looking to make postseason runs.

Regionals begin Tuesday, May 24, and continue Thursday, May 26.

May 24 games include Preble hosting Green Bay West/East, Bay Port hosting No. 13 Appleton North, Ashwaubenon hosting No. 12 Appleton West, Pulaski hosting Southwest and De Pere hosting West De Pere.

Kaukauna, the defending state champs, earned the No. 1 seed.

Locally, in Division 2, No. 5 Seymour travels to No. 4 Marinette May 24.

No. 9 Notre Dame Academy lost a regional-opening game May 19 to No. 8 Fox Valley Lutheran, 13-12.

Locally, in Division 5, No. 5 Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran travels to No. 4 Niagara May 24.

Sectional play commences Tuesday, May 31, with sectional finals coming Thursday, June 2.

The state tournament is Thursday-Saturday, June 9-11, at Goodman Diamond in Madison.
