Sport: Girls’ soccer

Mya Thomas is a senior member of the Pulaski girls’ soccer team.

As a junior, Thomas scored eight points to help lead the Red Raiders to an 8-8 overall mark.

She had a breakthrough game against Ashwaubenon when she netted two goals and an assist.

In 2022, Pulaski is 3-4 to start the season.

Talk about the stamina needed to play 80 minutes.

“You need to be conditioned to run and jog the entire game. More importantly, you must be able to go from a jog to a sprint, which is the toughest part of the game.”

If you could go anywhere in Wisconsin, where would you go?

“I would stay in Green Bay.”

How many times can you head the ball to yourself without letting it hit the ground?

“About three or four times.”

Talk about practice leading up to game day.

“We practice to counter or use certain plays or players to beat our opponents. We watch film and focus on strengthening the team.”

Celery or carrots for a snack?

“Carrots.”

A week in Mexico or Canada?

“Mexico because it’s warm.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be? 

“Singer Ariana Grande.”

What will you miss most after graduating?

“Sports events and spirit week.”

Paddleboarding or kayaking?

“Paddleboarding.”

If you could play for any pro team, who would it be?

“FC Barcelona.”

In 20 years, what will you be doing?

“Traveling.”

If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would it be?

“(American businessman and author) Robert Kiyosaki because he knows how to make money.”

What are your college aspirations? 

“Attend Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.”

Starbucks or Smart Cow Yogurt Bar?

“Starbucks.”

What two words describe you? 

“Quiet, adventurous.”

What’s your favorite color?

“Purple.”

Talk about your family heritage and culture?

“My dad’s side lives in Wisconsin. My mom’s side is mainly Filipino immigrants.”

Would you rather have a swimming pool or sports area at your home?  

“Sports area because in Wisconsin, you can only use a pool for so long.”

Who’s your favorite soccer player?

“Lionel Messi because his game is the best.”

A hammock or a deck for relaxing?

“A hammock.”

How do you define success?

“Setting a goal and reaching it. It doesn’t matter how big it is.”
