Yard waste site open
HOBART – The yard waste site, located at 3769 N. Overland Road, is now open to Village of Hobart residents.
The facility will be open 24/7 for yard waste dropoff through Nov. 15.
Yard waste accepted includes grass clippings, plants, leaves, weeds, pine cones, brush, garden refuse and small branches.
Examples of non-acceptable items include kitchen/food waste, metal, animal waste, stone, plastics, stumps (more than 6 inches in diameter), lumber sod and dirt.
Per village ordinance, illegal dumping will result in a $500 fine.
County VV closed until August
County VV between County U and North Overland Road will be closed through mid-August in order to construct a roundabout as part of the WIS 29/County VV interchange project in Brown County.

Oneida Nation barn fire
ONEIDA – Officials said no staff, or animals were injured in a barn fire at Oneida Nation Farms on County Highway C.
“All staff and animals are safe… Please keep our animals, farm, staff, and responders in your prayers,” the Oneida Nation posted on Facebook.
Officials said two hay sheds at the farm caught on fire.
Traffic in the area was temporarily rerouted by the Oneida Police Department.
