Bay Port softball beats Fond du Lac in six innings

SUAMICO – On a perfect day for a game, the Bay Port softball team made quick of Fond du Lac in a nonconference game April 11.

The Pirates scored four runs in the first and four more in the fifth on their way to an 11-1 thumping of the Cardinals at Bay Port High School.

The game ended in the sixth inning via the 10-run rule.

In the first inning, the Pirates hammered three hits, highlighted by a double from Alexis Watson and a triple by Emma Krueger.

Bay Port added another run in the second on an error before erupting for four more runs in the fifth.

Again, the Pirates used three hits in the inning to make it 9-1.

Callie Dickie and Krueger hit doubles.

In the sixth, an RBI double by Krueger, who had three hits on the night, scored Watson to end the game.

Bay Port is off to a 4-0 start and will be back in action Tuesday, April 12, when it hosts Green Bay Southwest in a Fox River Classic Conference game.
