Ceremony

GREEN BAY – Green Bay Preble High School hosted a ceremony earlier this month to honor four senior student-athletes who will continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Hunter Frommung participates in baseball and will attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The Blugolds are members of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and compete at the NCAA Division III level.

Hunter is the son of Dawn and Ed Frommung and has a brother, Hayden.

Sam Hummel participates in basketball and soccer and plans to attend UW-Eau Claire to play soccer.

Hummel is a first-team Fox River Classic Conference player in soccer and was named the Defensive Player of the Year last season.

In addition, he received all-state honorable mention honors and was a member of the 2021 conference championship team that went undefeated in the regular season.

The Blugolds are coming off a 15-4 overall season record.

Sam is the son of Kathy and Rick Hummel and has two brothers, Nick and Alex.

Megan Kurowski is a transfer student to Preble who most recently participated in soccer while attending her prior school.

She plans to attend UW-Platteville

The Pioneers posted a 13-5-2 overall record this past season.

Platteville is a member of the WIAC.

Kurowski’s honors include being named MVP as a freshman, where she was able to travel with the varsity team that went to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) state tournament.

The team also went to the state tournament her junior year, finishing runner-up.

In addition, Kurowski held high honors as a freshman and honors as a sophomore and junior.

She also participated in French Club, Teen Leadership and ran cross country.

Megan is the daughter of Gina and Chad Kurowski and has two sisters, Cacey and Rebecca.

Gabriella Sieber participates in swimming and will attend St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on a partial scholarship.

The Huskies are members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and compete at the NCAA Division III level.

Sieber was a first-team all-conference recipient in both her junior and senior years in the 100-yard backstroke, where she qualified for the WIAA state tournament all four years.

She’s also a member of Link Crew and will be graduating with 21 college credits.

Gabriella is the daughter of Amy and Tom Siebert and has two sisters, Claire and Jillian.
