Green Bay appoints Preble High School interim principal

By Press Times Staff

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay School District announced Bruce Russell will serve as Preble High School’s interim principal for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year.

His first day will be Tuesday, Jan. 18.

District representatives said after teaching for several years, Russell transitioned into administration, serving as an associate principal in Tomah.

He went on to serve as principal at Oconto Falls High School until he retired in 2018.

Since his retirement, Russell has served on the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators Board of Directors, Executive Board and as the state president.

In addition, he has assisted several Northeast Wisconsin school districts serving as an interim high school principal.

Communications Director Lori Blakeslee said the district has already begun the screening process for a new principal for Preble High School for the 2022-23 school year.

She said the selection process will include staff, parent and community feedback, performance tasks and an opportunity to tour the school.

Blakeslee said the goal is to announce a new principal for Preble High School this spring.
