AnnaBelle Davis is a senior at Green Bay Preble High School.

She recently competed in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) alternate fall season this past May, where Preble finished fourth overall at the Stevens Point Sectional with 104 points.

As a sophomore, she led the Hornets with a 13th place finish at the Green Bay East Sectional, narrowly missing the state meet by seconds.

Davis said she’d rather run longer distances in 30 degrees than in 90 degrees.

In her free time, she likes to watch murder documentaries.

Talk about how difficult running 3.1 miles is.

“It’s mentally tough. You are continually telling yourself you can pass a girl or finish the race. Without mental toughness, the race is over before it starts.”

What teammate would you like to be with if you were trapped on an island?

“Paige Dessart. She always has a smile on her face. We would then laugh about our luck ending on the island.”

Talk about how special your family is.

“My family is supportive of my running and tries to watch my meets as much as possible.”

What’s your most embarrassing cross country moment?

“One time during practice, I tried to jump over a fence, and I ended up ripping my shorts.”
What’s the greatest piece of advice somebody has told you?

“You can’t control other people’s thoughts.”

If you could be somebody for a day, who would it be?

“Singer/songwriter Cardi B.”

What are your goals for the 2021-22 season?

“To set a new PR (personal record).”

What’s your favorite phone app?

“TikTok.”

What was your daily routine like during the end of summer?

“I woke up around 6:30, went to practice at 7:30 and then worked full-time at the Resch (Aquatic) Center as a lifeguard. If I didn’t work, I studied for my nursing assistant class.”

What’s something about you most people don’t know?

“When I used to swim, I did distance races.”

What are your college aspirations?

“To study to become a detective.”

Would you rather go to Canada or the Caribbean for a vacation?

“Canada.”

What three words describe you?

“Ambitious, hard-working, caring.”

What’s your favorite music genre?

“Pop.”

If you could listen to any song before a meet, what would it be?

“Rack City.”

If you could attend the Olympics, which event would you watch?

“The mile.”

Who’s your favorite cross country/track and field athlete?

“Paula Radcliffe. She’s a runner who has asthma like me. Instead of letting it affect her running, she uses it to push herself harder.”

What are three things you’re going to miss about Preble?

“Friends, football games and dances.”

Running in the mountains in Colorado or alongside Highway 1 on the Pacific Coast of California?

“Running in the mountains in Colorado.”
