Green Bay Booyah drop pitcher’s duel

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Green Bay Booyah fell to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Thursday at Witter Field, 3-2.

The Booyah were down early after the Rafters scored one run in the bottom of the first, but Green Bay took the lead in the fourth.

Brett Blair (Stanford) hit an RBI double that scored Tristin Garcia (Western Kentucky).

Alec Danen (Viterbo) drove in Blair later that inning.

The Rafters evened the game in the sixth and took the lead in the eighth.

Christian Orr (Columbia International) pitched seven innings, allowing five hits, two runs and walked one.

Entering the ballgame, Orr had nine strikeouts on the season but ended the Thursday game with seven.

The Booyah return to Capital Credit Union Park for their final home game of the season Friday, Aug. 13, as the Lakeshore Chinooks come to town.

The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
