Haydon named head girls’ swimming coach at Pulaski

PULASKI – Nick Haydon is the new girls’ head swimming coach at Pulaski.

He replaces Connor Huff, who resigned to focus on his full-time position.

Haydon has also served as the Pulaski boys’ swimming coach for eight seasons.

“We were sad to see Coach Huff leave but know we are in excellent hands with Coach Haydon,” Janel Batten, Pulaski athletic director, said. “Nick does an excellent job with the boys’ program at Pulaski.”

Batten said she’s thankful for the opportunity for Haydon to share his knowledge and passion with the female swimmers as well.

“He’s a familiar face at the pool, and we know he’ll do an awesome job with the girls’ program as well,” she said. “We’re excited for the future of Pulaski swimming and diving.”

He is a 2008 graduate of Pulaski, where he swam for four years and was captain for three years.

He attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and UW-Green Bay.

Haydon recently started as an aquatics supervisor for the Green Bay YMCA after working for more than 10 years at the Tundra Lodge.

He lives with his girlfriend, Bailey, and dog, Zeke.

He said he’s excited to take on the challenge of coaching both programs.

“I’m excited to coach the girls’ team as well,” he said. “We’re going to take what Coach Huff started, build off that and try to continue improving and sending more athletes to the state meet.”

Haydon has already met a few of the swimmers while helping with the swim club.

“I’ve been at the meets,” he said. “We do have lots of talent and potential.”
