Booyah turn back Bombers in Michigan

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. –The Green Bay Booyah picked up where they left off before the Northwoods League All-Star break.

The Booyah defeated the Battle Creek Bombers Thursday, July 22, in Michigan, 12-4.

Green Bay got on the board first in the opening frame when Max Wagner (Clemson) drove in Dalton Pearson (Georgia State) with a single to left field.

The Bombers answered back with two unanswered runs to lead going 2-1 into the third.

That’s when Pearson hit a single that scored Nadir Lewis (Princeton) to tie the game.

After stealing both second and third, Pearson scored on a wild pitch during Wagner’s next at-bat for a 3-2 lead.

In the fourth, Kaden Hollow hit a solo home run to right to make it a 4-2.

It was Hollow’s team-leading sixth home run of the season.

In the fifth, the Booyah broke it open.

They brought ten men to the dish and scored five runs in the frame, which widened the margin to 9-2.

Green Bay added another three runs in the final stages of the game and finished with the eight-run win.

Logan Lee (Northwood) picked up his fourth win of the season.

He pitched six innings, allowing two runs (one unearned), one walk with four strikeouts.

Joseph Hettinger (Washington University in St. Louis) picked up the three-inning save.
