Booyah fall to Rafters on the road, drop to 0-4

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Green Bay Booyah fell to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at Witter Park Thursday evening, 7-3.

With the loss, Green Bay dropped to 0-4 in Northwoods League action to start the summer.

The Booyah finished with seven hits, while the Rafters pounded out 14 as a team.

In his debut, Dalton Pearson (Georgia State) recorded two hits in four at-bats.

In the eighth inning, after Nadir Lewis (Princeton) walked and back-to-back singles by Pearson and Tristin Garcia (Alcorn State), Nathan Blasick (West Virginia) singled to drive in two.

Bubba Thompson (Southern University and A&M) then hit into a fielder’s choice that scored another.

Ben Hampton (West Virginia), a West De Pere graduate, allowed four runs and 10 hits in 4.2 innings of work in his season debut.

Tyler Chadwick (West Virginia) pitched 1.1 innings in relief and didn’t allow a hit.

The Booyah will give the nod to Mason Patel (Georgia State) for Friday’s game against Fond du Lac.

The Knoxville, Tennessee, native pitched 16 innings, allowing seven earned runs during the spring.

The first pitch from Herr-Baker Field is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
