SUAMICO – The former site of the village’s Fire Station No. 1 was granted a reserve Class B liquor and beer license Monday, May 3, by the Suamico village board.

The license, for what will be known as the Station 1 Brewing Company and Music Hall at 1745 Riverside Dr., includes the following conditions:

• The applicant has supplied proof of a valid Wisconsin seller’s permit.

• Approval is granted for areas as specified on licenses only, namely inside the bar area and music hall/outdoor enclosed patio area. Any exceptions or additions must come to the board for approval.

• Any or all outstanding fees, charges, utility bills or taxes are paid in full prior to the issuance of the new license, as stated in the village code.

• Any fire code and building inspection violations are corrected as specified and re-inspected prior to issuance of a license.

• Any Brown County Health Department violations are corrected as specified and re-inspected prior to issuance of a license.

• Any or all outstanding beer and/or liquor bills have been paid as required under state statutes.

Last November, the board approved selling the property to Base Companies, LLC, for $350,000.

The company, located in the Rail Yard Innovation District in Green Bay, is converting the site into a brewery and music hall.

In March, the board rezoned the .587-acre property and granted a conditional use permit to allow a brewpub onsite.

Village Administrator Alex Kaker said the brewpub is expected to open sometime this summer.

The site was used as a fire station in Suamico for more than 60 years.

The fire department moved into the new Fire Station No. 1 this spring built on a 1.9-acre site at the intersection of West Deerfield Lane and Riverside Drive.

The new station has more than 20,000 square feet with two stories and six apparatus bays.
