SUAMICO – The village is in search of a new clerk after Bonnie Swan announced she will be retiring April 30 after 18 years of service.

The Suamico village board agreed Monday, April 5, to advertise for the position, which is being listed with an annual salary range of $55,000 to $60,000.

Though Swan’s current annual salary is higher, Village Administrator Alex Kaker said her salary reflects being in the position for 18 years, and the salary range being advertised appears to be comparable to other municipalities of similar size.

Those interested in the appointed clerk position have until April 27 to apply.

According to the position posting, interviews are planned in May with the expected start date for the new clerk being from middle to late June.

The job description calls for a minimum of two years’ experience as a municipal or deputy clerk, with the desired level of experience being three to five years as a municipal or deputy clerk as well as having supervisory experience.

In addition to being posted on the village’s website and social media, Kaker said the position will also be advertised on the websites of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, Wisconsin City/County Management Association and Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association.
