ASHWAUBENON – The Ashwaubenon girls’ swimming and diving team swam past De Pere in a Fox River Classic Conference dual meet March 19 at the Ashwaubenon Community Pool.

The Jaguars posted a 107-63 victory over the Redbirds.

The Ashwaubenon junior varsity squad also posted an 80-56 victory.

Ashwaubenon’s Hallory Domnick, a Division I commit to Northern Iowa, swam to a pair of dominating wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.98) and the 500 freestyle (5:17.42).

Her time in the 200 freestyle was more than 13 seconds faster than the runner-up finisher, while her time in the 500 freestyle was about 48 seconds better than the next-placed swimmer.

Domnick was also a part of two winning relay teams.

Sienna Nitke also won a pair of events (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) for the Jaguars and was on the two winning relays as well.

“Being it’s been so short, the season has gone well so far,” said Ashwaubenon head coach Kari Kleczka. “I couldn’t be happier with the way things are going. The girls swam well. We’ve been working hard in practice to finish races. What they’re doing in practice, things like their underwater work, it’s starting to show.”

De Pere’s Izzi Zablocki (200 individual medley), Bailey Venden (100 butterfly) and Danika Zablocki (100 backstroke) all won individual events.

“I’m proud of how our girls performed and for how they’ve been performing all season,” said De Pere assistant coach Kris Luebke. “They’ve been working hard. This year is a little different. We practice at St. Norbert College, and they’re tight with their restrictions, so we have to run two practices to make it work. It’s crazy, but these girls are doing great. It’s nice they’re going to get some kind of a season in.”
