Musical performances returning to Broadway Theatre

DE PERE – The absence of live musical performances on a national and local level is deeply felt by musicians and those who appreciate music.

A second Local Artist Series produced by Birder on Broadway will raise funds for De Pere’s Broadway Theatre and the musical artists.

Alicia Birder, executive director of the Birder Studio of Performing Arts and Birder Players, said that series, which began last summer, will “be the first opportunity for nearly all of our local artists to perform in nearly a year.

“They are so ready to share their music and perform again,” Birder said.

The following artists, which offer styles ranging from rhythm and soul, to jazz, and blues, are scheduled in this series:

• Jamie Lynn Fletcher in Spring Fever – March 6.

• Kyle Megna and Ross Catterton of Kyle Megna and The Monsoons – March 13.

• Kurt Gunn – March 20.

• 7000apart and Emily Holland – April 10.

• Erin Krebs Quartet – April 24.

Birder recommends guests go online or call to reserve tickets for a show, which helps setting up socially-distant seating inside the theater.

She said tickets may be purchased at the door, but there is no guarantee they will be available, because that depends on a table being available.

Each performance in the Local Artist Series will have two sets and run around 2 hours with a 7:30 p.m. start.
Birder said she is a firm believer in the power the arts have in our lives.

“As you know, history has shown that music and entertainment will help us heal in the coming days,” she said. “We are so excited to let that healing slowly begin and we are grateful for these amazing talents to take our Broadway Theatre stage.”
