Bank of Luxemburg to construct new branch office in Howard

By Press Times Staff

HOWARD – Construction of a new Bank of Luxemburg office on a 1.68-acre lot at Cardinal Lane and Hillside Court received final approval last month by the village board.

The project plans call for a 2,778-square-foot building, not including the drive-through, with 21 parking stalls, 19 standard stalls and two for ADA access.

The village is requiring one parking space for every 200 square feet of building floor area, plus one space per employee.

For banks and financial institutions with drive-up windows, a minimum of six parking spaces must be provided for the first drive-up window, plus four spaces for each additional window and one space per employee.

The board approved the Bank of Luxemburg project as part of its consent agenda with the following conditions backed a week earlier by Howard’s Plan Commission:

• A stormwater management plan is approved by the village Engineering Department, including the property easements from the Thornberry Cottage property through the Athey property to the existing pond near Duck Creek.

• All trash dumpsters, recycling containers and other exterior refuse storage are effectively screened from public view by opaque fences, walls or enclosures constructed of materials matching that of the principal structure on the property.

• The village’s Engineering Department approves the driveway, parking lot and future roadway elevations.

• The village’s Public Works department approves all driveway locations.
