Several area wrestlers heading to individual state tournament

BROWN COUNTY – Wrestlers from Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, De Pere and Seymour are heading to the WIAA state individual tournament.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the state tournament, normally held at the Kohl Center in Madison, was split into three locations.

The Division 1 tournament will be held at Kaukauna High School Saturday, Feb. 13, while the Division 2 venue is Adams-Friendship High School.

Only the top two finishers at sectionals qualified for the state meet.

Division 1 Wausau East Sectional results

Ashwaubenon’s Connor Ramage (182) and Nathan Moynihan (220), Bay Port’s Jacob Ward (145) and Drake Anderson (195) and De Pere’s Shane Corrigan (120) all won sectional titles, while De Pere’s Michael Anderson (182) finished runner-up.

Bay Port (seventh – 73.5 points), De Pere (10th – 52.5), Ashwaubenon (11th – 48), Pulaski (15th – 31) and Green Bay Preble (22nd – 6) competed among 24 teams.

Division 2 Seymour Sectional results

Seymour’s Wyatt Kaczrowski finished runner-up at 120.

As a team, Seymour finished in a tie for seventh among 24 teams with 72 points.
