Area boys’ swimming/diving sectional results

BROWN COUNTY – Several area boys’ swimmers and divers qualified for the WIAA state meet with strong performances at sectionals Jan. 30.

The state meet will be held Feb. 5-6 at Waukesha South High School.

Bay Port, Green Bay United and Pulaski competed at the Division 1 Neenah Sectional, with the Pirates winning overall with 330 points among 12 teams.

Pulaski (193.5) and GBU (117) finished fifth and ninth, respectively.

Ashwaubenon, which finished fourth among 11 teams with 238 points, hosted its own Division 2 sectional.

In all, 15 area swimmers/divers will compete at state.

Neenah Sectional – state qualifiers

1-meter diving: Spencer Van Donsel, PUL, fifth – 320.9.

200-yard medley relay: BP, first – 1:39.33 (Victor Kostov, William Nicol, Asa Sadowsky, Payton Schilz).

200 individual medley: Nicol, BP, first – 2:04.46.

100 butterfly: Kostov, BP, second – 51.38; Kyler Simonet, GBU, fourth – 53.42; Mikhail Neverman, GBU, fifth – 54.06.

100 freestyle: Schilz, BP, second – 48.84.

500 freestyle: TJ Shaw, PUL, second – 4:55.54.

100 backstroke: Kostov, BP, first – 51.96; Neverman, GBU, third – 55.52.

400 freestyle relay: BP, third – 3:31.2 (Schilz, Sadowsky, Turner Long, Kostov).

Ashwaubenon Sectional – state qualifiers

200 freestyle: Jackson Hodek, ASH, first – 1:45.07.

50 freestyle: Cooper Herr, ASH, fifth – 22.63.

100 freestyle: Herr, second – 49.15.

500 freestyle: J. Hodek, ASH, first – 4:44.95; Andrew Hodek, ASH, fourth – 5:10.79; Alexander Smits, ASH, fifth – 5:11.47.

200 freestyle relay: ASH, fourth – 1:32.69 (Herr, Peter Steinhoff, Anthony Fairman, Hodek).

400 freestyle relay: ASH, third – 3:25.29 (Herr, Steinhoff, Fairman, Hodek).
