She said her favorite month of the year is December because she enjoys Christmas and spending time with family during the holidays.

When did your interest in dance begin?

“My elementary music teacher called me a choreography queen. She wrote a note to me about how proud she was of my dedication. Since then, I’ve wanted to continue my dance journey.”

What was the last gift you gave someone?

“For Christmas, I gave my cousin her favorite scented candle and some cozy socks.”

Which teammate could perform on “So You Think You Can Dance?”

“Dayton Hock. She’s skillful/talented and has lots of creativity in her steps and movements.”

What’s your most memorable moment?

“When we qualified for state. It was the first time we had been to state in nine years. We were shocked we placed second at regionals, but we were happier when we qualified for state.”

What’s the most unusual assignment you’ve had at Pulaski?

“In chemistry class, we have something called mole day. A mole is a type of measurement used in chemistry, and we bring in a mole-themed project.”

What’s your favorite quote?

“‘Inhale the future, exhale the past.’ It reminds me not to obsess over what we’ve done in the past but to put it behind us and look to the future.”

Who inspires you?

“My mom is my role model and inspires me daily. She works hard and always cares for those around her. She’s taught me to be selfless, strong and to never give up.”

What are your future plans?

“I plan to major in marine biology and minor in Spanish at Carroll University in Waukesha. I’ll then transfer to Hawaii Pacific University (Honolulu) to finish my studies.”

How would you befriend new students at school who have trouble fitting in?

“I would ask what their interests are and invite them to join different clubs and activities they would enjoy. I would also introduce them to my friends so they can feel more comfortable knowing more people.”

Fruits or vegetables?

“Fruits.”

What’s the most important quality in a friendship?

“Communication. Without communication, it’s difficult to build trust and loyalty.”

Describe the scariest encounter you’ve experienced.

“Once while I was horseback riding, it began to storm. On our way back, there was thunder, which spooked our horses. I almost fell off and got trampled by the horse behind me. Fortunately, I was able to hang on, and we returned safely.”

What two words describe you?

“Trustworthy, kind.”

South America or Canada?

“I’ve wanted to visit Canada because of its gorgeous mountains and beautiful waterfalls.”

What did you do for your community service hours at Pulaski?

“During one of my mission trips, I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity by landscaping, window cleaning, painting and drywalling homes.”

What’s your favorite wake-up food/drink before school?

“Waffles and a fruit smoothie.”

What’s your favorite outfit to perform in?

“I love the kick costumes we received last year because they are sparkly and complement our routines.”

Talk about your dance coaches.

“They value teamwork and support us at all times. Coach Hanna (Hedsand) and Coach Jennifer (Erickson) push us to be our best while making dance enjoyable.”
